Kundalini Yoga Teachers Association

From the KYTA Chair

Sat Nam dear KYTA Members & Teachers,

We are all recovered from a great experience at the Yoga Show. Three days at Olympia with so many requests for more information, great classes taught by all the KYTA representatives, a very beautiful stand graced by the most charming and beautifully presented sevadars. It has to be said that it was a success.

The show itself had bumper attendance. Lots of eager teachers and students, from all manner of disciples, all looking for more, new, different and elevating.

A hug thank you to everyone who came, all of you who put so much effort into representing KYTA and the various Teacher Trainings, and everyone involved in making the event the very popular show that it has become.

Carolyn Cowan, KYTA Chair

Weekly Words of Wisdom

The Yogi

"The mind has long been dissipated by worldly things and does not easily come under sway, Arjuna. But when one perfecty controls and fully withdraws the mind from selfish cravings, one is in yoga, union with Divinity. The mind of the yogi, totally focused on the True Self, is unwavering like the steady flame of a candle in a sheltered place.

"When the mind becomes still and quiet, the Self reveals itself. At these depths one experiences the joy and peace of complete fulfillment.

"When you dive deep into this infinite bliss of the Lord, which is above and beyond the senses, you never again wander from the innermost Truth. The goal and the means for reaching the goal become one and the same; life itself becomes a meditation.

"In this supreme state you desire nothing else whatsoever and cannot be shaken by any calamity. To be in this mental state is to know the real meaning of yoga, union with God. Indeed, to achieve this state is to sever your contact with pain and surely bring an end to all your sorrow...

(Krishna to Arjuna in the Bhagavad Gita 6.18-23)

The picture shows Krishna Dvaipayana Vedavyasa, the composer of the Mahabharata, of which the Bhagavad Gita is considered to be the heart.

We recommed to seek one of these two translations:
The Bhagavad Gita, A Wakthrough for Westerners, Jack Hawley, New World Library; or The Bhagavad Gita, Eknath Easwaran, Penguin.

The 5 Aquarian Sutras

Fri 11th December 6 - 9pm
with Sat Siri Singh in the Alchemy Centre

The Piscean Age of control, secrecy, individuality and religion has shifted to the Aquarian Age of compassion, openness, community and dharma. "A new world shall emerge beyond our expectations, imaginations, and situations." - YB

Life is a miracle unfolding in the five-dimensional space of the elements. Every process, venture, and system will pass through five stages, encounter five adversaries and find five virtues on the way to its completion. In the core of the teachings, Yogi Bhajan seeded five Sutras for the Aquarian Age, which are unique inspirations for meeting the challenges of the times to come. In this workshop, we will explore the sutras using kriya, meditation and a creative process, and we will shed more light on the qualities of the Aquarian Age. Download Flyer.

Costs: £20. Venue & Booking: Alchemy Center, Unit 101, Stables Market, Chalk Farm Road, London NW1 8AH, 020 7267 6188. Contact Sat Siri Singh, 07502 330 120, sss@kundalini-khalsa.com.
