Thousands of Yogis
KYTA at the Yoga Show
Last weekend saw thousands of yogis gather in Kensington Olympia for the Yoga Show. The KYTA stand was stronger than ever this year, thanks to the help of many sevadars who came forward to make it all happen. Many thanks to: Siri Avtar Singh, Hari Karam Singh, Mahf Ambia, Angad Kaur, Siri Sadhana Kaur, Inderpal Singh, Natalie Fishwick, Surinder Kaur, Satya Prem Kaur, Jap Inder Kaur, Updesh Kaur, Karamleen Kaur, Madschri, Beverley Drumm, Carol Lagler-Kolusheva, Suhab Kaur.
With bright and shining faces our team of sevadars answered many questions about Kundalini Yoga (including: has your kundalini risen? is it happening now?), collected names for the KYTA newsletter, and helped people to use the KYTA class finder to locate classes near to home. The stand feels like an oasis of calm in the middle of the buzz of the yoga show. The show includes many half hour demonstration classes, and three were lead by KYTA. Special thanks to Ben Smith (outgoing KYTA Secretary, see picture at end of this newsletter!), who taught a dynamic class on the chakras, complete with his own hip hop mantras, to Satwant Kaur (new joint KYTA Seva and Sangat Officer), who taught a meditative pranayama class, and to our outgoing KYTA Chairperson, Sat Charan Kaur, who taught a class on positivity and prosperity.
If you were not able to join us this year, please consider coming out to be part of this sangat event next year. Calls for teachers to lead classes will go out in a KYTA newsletter next spring. Satnam.

A snowball rolls down a mountain. As it rolls it gathers more and more snow, it grows and grows and finally becomes a huge force. We (all volunteers) have made this video about the 3HO Europe fundraising course 21 Stages of Meditation. After you watch it, please do not forget to click the “like it” button. And then we would love you to put the link on facebook and on your website and to pass this email on to your friends, so the snowball can roll through the internet and together we can reach out to many people. You can add the text “21 Stages of Meditation”, European Event, open for everybody interested in meditation. Download Registration Form.
Free Your Voice
Sat 2nd February 12 - 5pm with Sat Siri Singh in Manchester
Kundalini Yoga Naad workshop: Our physical body stores our karma, unprocessed experiences and pending challenges. Within the system of the 7 chakras, the throat chakra has the same numerology as the physical body within the system of the 10 bodies, it has the same potential for working the karma and holistic healing. In Kundalini Yoga, the subtle energy channels in the body are called naadis, the flow of prana is described as a sound current. Simple vocal exercises can cleanse the naadis, balance and stimulate all chakras, remove blocks in the throat chakra, and liberate the voice. We will practice Kundalini Yoga kriya, meditation and vocal exercises to regain the full vibrancy of our voice and restore the original power of our word. You will feel centred and invigorated in your self.
Meditation Concert Sat 2nd February 7 - 9pm: Shabads from the Siri Guru Granth Sahib in raagas. Bhai Mardana was an old friend and devoted student of Guru Nanak. He accompanied him for many years on almost all his journeys and played the Rabaab to the hymns. Sat Siri Singh sings shabads from the sacred scripture in traditional raagas and plays the Rabaab along. You can sing along or just immerse yourself in the divine hymns to the sound of an ancient instrument. Open Flyer.
Start February 2013 with Ik Saran Dhian (International School of Kundalini Yoga) nr Brecon Beacons
This training is residential and will take place over three weeks, allowing for a deep immersion and shared ashram experience. There will be one week each in February, May and September. We will be staying in a cottage in beautiful countryside on the edge of the Brecon Beacons, ensuring a retreat atmosphere throughout the training. The training is suitable for anyone that would like to take their experience and knowledge of Kundalini Yoga to a deeper level and are ready for the next step on their own journey of self-transformation. The training has an impact on the very core of your being and, therefore, enriches all aspects of life. Please note that numbers are limited. The principal trainers are Ishwara Kaur and Kirpal Singh.

End of Devotion Clothing
I have come to the point where I can no longer trade as a clothes designer. It has been a big and painful decision to make.
I have added to the SALE, mostly one-off items from the Caro Dresses and the Flared Shirts collections: Riding Jackets, Wrap Around Jackets, Atam Sukhs and Gagras, these are marked down now and in most cases the stock is at the end. I plan to have a week long SALE at my house around 2nd - 8th December for fabric, buttons, one-off pieces etc. There will be wonderful bargains, great offers and some pieces that never made it onto the site.
If you would like clothes to be made for you I will still offer this service until the end of January. Do feel free to call or to email for an appointment, 02077019269. Devotion will continue to trade, but the focus will return to yoga, DVDs, workshops, personal development etc.
I will continue building up my portfolio as a photographer and am interested in photographing women with scars, men in make up, men or women who are transitioning. Also I am in the 2nd year of training to be a Psychosexual and Relationship Counsellor so should you feel the need of my services please do not hesitate.
I have enjoyed the clothes designing career path hugely, met wonderful men and women in the process, and look forward to the changes. Thank you all. Carolyn Cowan.
