The Positive Mind (3)

Sat 10th March 2 - 5pm
with Angad Kaur in Birmingham

"The Positive Mind is the expression of accepting life in the physical body and its interaction with the world." - Shiv Charan Singh

A programme of workshops exploring the ten Spiritual Bodies. The third spiritual body is the Positive Mind which by default serves the Negative Mind. To become conscious of our mental habits means that we can train the Positive Mind to be in correct service to the idea that tomorrow could be different. The third realm is the positive state and is forward thinking. How we affirm ourselves is through this realm. Anand Sahib, the prayer composed by Guru Amar Das, the third Sikh Guru, expresses the joy of right action. He calls out to the body and its functions to know their true occupation in this world, inspiring within us a sense of care and concern for all. Download Flyer.

Investment: £15, conc £10. Venue: Northside Welcome Centre, Mata Tripta House, Sikh Nari Manch, Erdington, Birmingham B23 7AL. Contact Sundeep Bal, 0121 377 6136, sundeep_bal@yahoo.com.

Destiny / The Flower (Century Cycle)

Fri 16th March 6.45 - 9.15pm
with Karam Kriya School in London

An invitation to think differently about the time cycles of the day, month, year and century and our relationship to them. When we consciously breathe into each moment of life while giving life to our breath, we invest in the destiny that is just waiting for the opportunity to unfold, like the petals of a flower, bringing its own beauty and poetry to the world. Destiny is an intuitive presence before us that requires the ability to pre-sense; to recognise the future in the present moment. We are unable to do this when we are afraid. However faith transforms our fears and enables us to cultivate the warrior within. When we take the risk of trusting in the unknown, we make ourselves available to meet all that will take us beyond the limited self of the mind and deeper into the limitless realm of the heart. Download Flyer.

Investment: £15. Venue: Helios Centre, 116 Judd Street, Kings Cross, London WC1H 9NS. Contact Angad Kaur, 07771 803562, angadkaur@karamkriya.co.uk, Suhab Kaur, suhabkaur@karamkriya.co.uk, www.karamkriya.eu.

Workshops with Siri Sadhana Kaur

Sat 7th April 7.30 - 8.45pm: The Dance of Shakti and Bhakti. Drawing on Kundalini yoga teachings and Nia Dance. This evening invites your dancing feet to express the inner shakti-primordial creative energy and weave in our bhakti presence that is heartful, intuitive and sustaining. These two qualities open the dialogue between the aspects of self that create, move and do -and the parts that serve and connect us to the greater consciousness. Venue: Harmony Harbour, 192 Evelyn Street, Deptford, London SE8 3EJ. Download Flyer.

Sat 21st April 7 - 8.30pm: Vibrating Mantra. This evening will use devotional songs, mantra and celestial communications as taught by Yogi Bhajan to surrender to our soul and universal consciousness. Venue: Harmony Harbour, 192 Evelyn Street, Deptford, London SE8 3EJ. Download Flyer.

Sat 28th April 7.45 - 9.45pm: Dancing the Chakras - a Nia Dance Jam. We can enhance and balance our chakra system through the intention and quality of our breath, thought, and dance. Inviting and drawing on our healing capacities requires us to dance outside familiar territory, consciously directing our flow of energy and allowing the magic to occur. Investment: £15 in advance £20 on night. Venue: Alchemy, Unit 101 Stables Market, Chalk Farm Road, London NW1 8AH. Download Flyer.

Great British Kundalini Yoga Festival Kids Camp Co-ordinators

Tue 5th - Sun 10th June in Reading

The festival has grown over the years and we are expecting 20+ children this year, ages ranging from 0 to 12. We need a team of 3 people to devise and co-ordinate, in conjunction with the festival organisers, an engaging and meaningful program for the kids at the Great British Yoga Festival. This is a very creative, engaging and rewarding task, and you will have the satisfaction to see your energy, ideas and input shape the children’s week and enjoyment. The team will be able to draw on the expertise and counsel of Siri Arti Kaur (Judith Nichols) who has successfully run the camp for several years.

Children are divided into 2 groups: 0-5 years attend with their parents and we run craft activities for pre-schoolers and family yoga sessions. 5-12 years attend without their parents and the program will include activities that you devise. People attending the festival will be asked to help in the camp by volunteering their skills. At least one member of your co-ordinating team needs to be present at each session of the kids camp. Due to the amount of input required there will be a discount available to members of this team.

Requirements: Recent CRB Certificate, experience working with children. If you would like to be a member of this team please get in contact with Surinder Kaur, sk.marshall@btinternet.com.

Featured Teacher

Sukhjeet Kaur: Thank you to Yogi Bhajan and Shiv Charan Singh. Kundalini Yoga has changed my life, not only physically but also mentally. All is a matter of self-awareness, courage to keep up in daily life. To teach I am travelling between London and France, an experience to learn more. I am Herbalist and Bach Flowers Remedies Practitioner, a good combination with yoga. "Wake up, Sat Nam" is the motto I use. Doing Sadhana is a reward. Dramatic changes happened: Last November I got married to Amjila, and soon I will be granny, too. I created Wisdom Window Yoga, an opportunity to lead KY Retreats/Tibetan Healing Workshop in Bali and France.
